Titoni Airliner – For Air Adventurers

Titoni, an independent watch company based in Grenchen, Switzerland, launches a new 2007 watch collection - the Airliner. The brand specializes in producing mechanical timepieces equipping them with its own in-house movements.

The new Airliner watches feature sturdy construction powered by mechanical movements. The timepieces reveal lacquered dials. The Airliners have maintained the reliability of Swiss-made mechanisms developed by Titoni for almost a century of its watchmaking history(since 1919).

The Titoni Airliner models have three hands conventionally placed in the center of the dial. The peculiarity of the timepieces lies in the day of the week and the date display. The day of the month is featured at 12 o'clock, while the days of the week display is placed at 6 o'clock. Corresponding to the Asian tendency to express the day of the week in numbers, the Titoni designers have added them above the days of the week names. However, Sunday makes the exception: the number '7' is replaced by the Titoni emblematic stylized flower with five petals.

The Airliner watches feature no extra details providing clearness of design and supreme readability. These are robust, rugged timepieces with the distinctive screws on the bezel. The front and back parts of the models are covered by sapphire crystal. Through the transparent case back one may admire the perfectly finished automatic movement. The mechanism comprises the oscillating weight featuring the 'Titoni of Switzerland' inscription.

All the Airliner collection models offer 50-meters water-resistance. The timepieces provide the choice between a black rubber strap or solid steel bracelet with a folding clasp. credit:watch-fashion
